Pasadena City Hall is a fantastic location for an engagement session with its clean lines and architectural details. I was so excited to shoot in this space with a couple whose love and constancy reflected their chosen venue.
This is the beginning of a long but a so worthy story of my relationship with Jorieden and Mitch. This couple contacted me in January of 2020, before COVID was in our consciousness, and booked me for their engagement session and wedding. Right off the bat, I loved chatting with them and hearing about their story! There was just some client photographer chemistry there, Yaknow?! We had to push back the timeline, because of COVID, but when we finally got to meet and do the engagement shoot, it was a breeze.
Jorieden and Mitch are resilient and amazingly easy going. They met and fell in love in college. They have been through a lot together and have supported each other’s challenges all along the way. Most importantly, they have grown with one another. You can feel their story and their strong love when you are with them in their comfortable and calm demeanor.
My favorite moment was when Mitch helped Jorieden with her dress. It was something so simple but so meaningful at the same time. Small moments captured.
We chose Pasadena City Hall for their engagement session because it’s 1) beautiful! And because 2) Jorieden and Mitch wanted an architectural setting for their session. And even though we were in an urban setting, there was still a TON of variety in backdrops. We walked up and down the hallways, up the stairwell, to the roof, and in front of the fountain. We got tons of good pics, and I am psyched to share them because each moment just feels like them.
In my next blog, I’ll be talking about Jorieden and Mitch’s COVID wedding adventure. We worked together for over a year before they finally tied the knot, which was awesome because our friendship was only that much stronger!
