Jo Anne came to me for a brand photography session knowing two things: One, she needed some gorgeous photos for her virtual assistant/online business manager (OBM) business. Two, she wasn’t sure what that meant or how to put those together. This was honestly exciting because booking a branding photography session with me is not just about the photos themselves, but the entire process from start to finish. Most people don’t organize photoshoots regularly. When I build a session for a client, we work out all the details before the day of the shoot, including building intention into the session. We’re always making sure your business values align with the types of images we are producing. We’re looking for MAJOR return on investment here, people!!
Working with Jo Anne was a delight because even though she didn’t think she knew a lot about what she wanted in her shoot, she understood her brand and business intimately. We schedule a brand strategy session, which is a virtual meeting that comes with every branding session. During this session, we sat down to chat and hone in on what feelings she wanted people to see when they looked at the images. We discussed how to bring those about, the colors she wanted to incorporate, and props and outfits that would best suit Jo Anne’s vision. I provided a schedule template so that we could walk into the chosen space and know exactly what we were doing. Every outfit, accessory, prop, and pose was intentional and packed with impact and purpose for her business.
I was also not surprised that Jo came ready and prepared. I’ve never seen someone as organized and to be honest, this is just more evidence that she’s a kick ass virtual assistant and online business manager. If she can organize her own branding photography session (which can get quite chaotic), then she can maximize efficiency in your business!
I love doing branding sessions because not only am I able to help other businesses out with the logistical side of planning a session, I also get to dive into some deeper topics. I was able to host thoughtful conversations with Jo Anne on the confidence she was looking to show in these photos. She brought her down-to-earth, relatable personality, which made it easy to facilitate and build out the day. I loved that I was able to help her with small things, like arranging flowers while she got changed to help create the vision and atmosphere she was going for.
I loved that we got to chat about the inspiration behind her business name, Bright One Solutions. Bright One is the meaning of her mother’s name and has a direct connection to the types of entrepreneurs she seeks to work with. We were a 1:1 match because she is exactly the type of branding client I want to attract! This shoot in LA is an important one for me because it shows how much photos can return on their investment. She did a comprehensive shoot to launch her business, and it has clearly helped her success. I mean, look at her website y’all.
