One of the first things Alejandra said to me was “I need to have my session in September because this baby is definitely coming in October.” This baby already had determination and I’ll tell you a funny story further along this post about the baby’s middle name.

Alejandra and I graduated from the same Master of Science program, although two different years! Fun fact: we also shared a hotel room/suite one year for a professional conference.

Alejandra & Kevin showed up ready to impress for their maternity session and to be completely honest, I was floored at how beautiful Alejandra looked. All my mama-to-be’s are so beautiful, each in their own way.

Alejandra opted for a maroon floor-length maternity gown with the perfect flower crown, custom-made by Iris & Barry Blooms.

Ready for the funny story? Alejandra shared on her Instagram that she couldn’t decide on a middle name for the baby but jokingly said that if the baby is a boy and born on the same date as her grandfather, she’d give him the middle name Fidel (like her grandfather). It was meant to be a joke! As the due date drew closer, it actually looked like this baby was going to be born on her grandfather’s birthday! It made for such a good laugh. Spoiler alert: baby boy wasn’t born the same day, so his middle name it’s Fidel… but it’s funny to think what could have been.
